Imphal,Sep 24: In yet another incident that can trigger a fresh cycle of violence in Manipur, suspected militants shot dead 4 people from Naga community along the Indo-Myanmar border. The bodies were spotted on Thursday evening.
The incident was believed to have taken place at the Pilong areas where the victims were residents of a tiny Tangkhul hamlet in Kamjong district.
The various Tangkhul Naga Long organizations have vehemently condemned the carnage and blamed it all on the Manipur Government for failure to ensure the safety and security of the common people along the international border.
According to a section of Naga organizations, Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B) and Kuki elements carried out the attack aided and abetted by the Myanmar-based People’s Defence Force (PDF).
Two villagers were shot dead in the village while 2 others were kidnapped at gunpoint to a nearby forest area to be shot dead.
The deceased were identified as Betterson Jajo, Vareishim Jajo, Phami Jajo and Ningthem Kashak.
