Shillong (Meghalaya), June 9: Founder president of Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People ( FKJGP) and former MDC of Mylliem, Sounder Strong Cajee, passed away on Sunday morning due to a massive heart attack at his residence in Laban locality
He was 58.
According to family members, Cajee was suffering from cardiac problems and this morning at 7.30 complained of feeling uneasy and was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Late Sounder Strong Cajee was the founder president of the FKJGP in 1989.
Later he joined active politics and was elected as MDC from Mylliem Constituency.
Cajee joined BJP on May 31, 2017, and subsequently resigned from the party.
He then unsuccessfully contested on an NPP ticket from the South Shillong constituency in 2018.
Sounder Cajee was the TMC candidate from Mawkyrwat constituency in the 2023 Meghalaya Assembly elections which he lost against HSPDP legislator and cabinet minister Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar from Mawkyrwat constituency.
