Dimapur (Nagaland), Nov 5 : Monitoring as a “watch dog” on the different projects where certain amount have been pumped into the State of Nagaland since 2019-2020 for developmental projects under the Underdeveloped Area Programme (UDAP) and Border Area Development Programme (BADP), particularly for the districts of Tuensang, Mon, Longleng and Kiphire, which were created in the year 2003 with an objective to bring about socio-economic and infrastructural progress in the supposed “backward areas” in the state of Nagaland, the Rising People’s Party (RPP) on Friday has heavily attacked on the Nagaland government for various reasons including giving “green signal” in executing contract works order amounting to the tune of “crores of rupees”.
According to a press statement issued by the RPP, the present government should be “credited” for “creating” the highest number of “crorepattis” out of “thin air” in the shortest possible time while stating that under the Underdeveloped Area Programme (UDAP) and Border Area Development Programme
(BADP), the central government had released Rs. 43. 83 Crore (approx) for the year 2019-20 for the development of eastern Nagaland and other pockets in the state.
While perusing through the 121 work-orders, the amount sanctioned was calculated at Rs. 43. 83 Crore approximate (whereas the RTI mentioned the released amount as only Rs. 32. 69 Crore), said RPP.
It also mentioned that the pattern is “same-only” the same firms keep on getting the work-orders year after years for which it doubted that there is an ample “syndicate” in the state government.
Disclosing that the it has already released the “work-orders” and the “lists of firms” which were awarded the “contracts” for the year 2011-12 which were flashed in “newspapers” and also in the social media platforms, however, the RPP statement said that due to “paucity of time”, the party would publish the “work orders” awarded between the years from 2012-13 and 2018-19 in different social media platforms only.
Appealing the to the voters from the Eastern Nagaland to be vigilant and give “people’s report” with regard to the implementation of the said projects, RPP has informed that if there is any “anomalies”, the party could be reached at its email- risingpeoplesparty@gmail.com. Further, it reminded that once the party has the “People’s Report”, it would take further course of action accordingly.
Meanwhile, the RPP has released name of the firms, number of work orders issued and also the total cost of the projects accordingly under DUDA 2019-2020 listing 37 firms amounting to Rs.43,83,52,800/-.
