Imphal (Manipur), July 20 :The Covid-19 situation continued to be grim in Manipur as infection count for the past 24 hours exceeded 1000.The daily fatality count also remained above 10-mark with 17 death cases reported in the past 24 hours.
The state Health department on Tuesday recorded 1,127 new cases out of 7,279 tests in the past 24 hours, taking the overall infection tally of the state to 86,723.The recovery rate stood at 86.76 percent. Currently, the state has 10,067 active cases.
The department further reported deaths of 17 COVID-19 infected patients in the past 24 hours, taking the fatality toll to 1,409.
Meanwhile, with the vaccination pace in the state picking up in the last few days, 22,623 doses were administered on Tuesday, taking the total number of doses administered so far to 10,66,127 including 1,19,452 second doses.
