AICC Media Coordinators Ms . Bobbeeta Sharma, Mathew Antony and Sanjoy Das, General Secretary, Meghalaya PCC said that the state urgently needs to be free from corruption and scams that is clogging the system of governance.
There is so much of corruption that even the State BJP President was compelled to comment in media recently about the corruption of their own ally partner the NPP. The BJP issued a statement where they slammed the NPP by denying the people of development projects due to corruption, lack of policies, intent, and incompetence .
They said that in reality, the BJP protects all corrupt people and they are also protecting the MDA leadership despite having full knowledge about the corruption going on in the state and are hand in gloves in depriving the people of their rights and good governance.
Besides , BJP is also spreading poison by trying to divide the people of the country in general and the state in particular on communal lines.
In the history of the state since its formation in 1972 no one ever heard of any church being attacked but when BJP came to power in the Centre and in the State ,attack on minorities and churches have become rampant all over the country .
‘It is an attack not only on religion but also on identity’ , they said .
They said that Congress believes in the freedom of all to profess their faith in peace and the party believes in giving equal respect to all religions and cultures.
Congress has always believed in the preservation of one’s own unique ethnic identity but today this identity is under threat and appealed to the people of the state to be aware and conscious of what BJP stands for and what Congress has always stood for.
