Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 15: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma laid the foundation stone for a new Meghalaya House Annex in Delhi, aiming to provide a comfortable and welcoming space for visitors and officials from the state. The new complex will be constructed in two phases, with the first phase comprising 24 guest rooms and a meeting hall at an estimated cost of ₹22 crore.
The annex will be built within the premises of the existing old Meghalaya House complex, spread over a 1.99-acre plot. The Chief Minister emphasized that the building should reflect Meghalaya’s culture and traditions and serve the people of the state.
With a focus on warmth and hospitality, the Chief Minister urged staff to provide exceptional service, ensuring that visitors feel at home. The project is expected to significantly strengthen Meghalaya’s presence in the national capital and improve facilities for visitors from the state.
