Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 30 :60 new Covid cases were reported in the state on Sunday taking the total number of cases to 2343.
Among the new cases 31 new cases were reported from East Khasi Hills . Among the cases 26 were high -risk contacts , 4 from Armed Forces and 1 returnee .
Among the rest 29 cases from 9 were reported from West Garo Hills belonging to BSF . A total of 9 new cases were also reported from East Garo Hills and were detected by random sampling in Rongjeng market.
Ri-Bhoi reported 6 cases comprising of 2 returnees , 2 high-risk contacts, 1 from Armed forces and 1 with influenza symptoms .
1 case was also reported from South Garo Hills who was a high risk contact .
The total active cases as of now stand at 1284 .
