Shillong (Meghalaya), Feb 12 : PM, Narendra Modi today distributed more than 1 lakh appointment letters to newly inducted recruits via video conferencing. He also laid the foundation stone of Phase I of the Integrated Complex “Karmayogi Bhavan” in New Delhi. This complex will promote collaboration and synergy among various pillars of Mission Karmayogi.

Addressing the gathering, the PM said that appointment letters are being handed out to more than 1 lakh recruits and congratulated them and their families on the occasion. He underlined that the campaign to provide job opportunities to the youth in the Government of India is continuing in full swing. Pointing out that the long time spent between the job notification and handing out appointment letters led to an increase in bribery, the Prime Minister stated that the present government has made the entire process transparent while also completing the recruitment process under the stipulated time.

The Prime Minister informed that the present government in the last 10 years has handed out jobs to the youth 1.5 times more than the previous governments. The Prime Minister also touched upon laying the foundation stone of Phase I of the Integrated Complex ‘Karmayogi Bhavan’ in New Delhi and said that it will strengthen the government’s initiative towards capacity building.

Union Minister of State for Education Dr Subhas Sarkar joined the Rozgar Mela in Shillong wherein he distributed appointment letters to the new recruits following the Prime Minister’s address. In Shillong appointment certificates were handed over to 48 candidates belonging to North Eastern Hill University, North Eastern Police Academy, Employees Provident Fund Organisation, NEEPCO, NEIGRIHMS, and Department of Posts.

The Union Minister, while expressing his delight for the successful organisation of the Rozgar Mela, said, “Our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has launched the “Rozgar Mela- recruitment drive for 10 lakh personnel. A significant step has been taken to provide job opportunities for the youth and ensure the welfare of citizens”.

Highlighting that the Rozgar Mela is a significant addition to the various initiatives of the central government, Dr Sarkar said that the mission mode recruitment drive is expected to result in the filling up of 10 lakh jobs and it is also expected to lead to the creation of additional employment in private and public sectors.

The Minister underscoring the effectiveness of Karmayogi Prarambh module launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, said that the module includes a code of conduct for Government servants, workplace ethics & integrity, and Govt HR policies and rules that will help them to get acclimatized to the policies and transition smoothly into the new roles. “I would also like to add that, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoP&T) had launched a Mobile Application of iGOT Karmayogi Portal, which would make it easy to access the Karmayogi Portal’, the Minister added.

Speaking about the various reforms been brought about in the government sector, Dr Sarkar said that apart from making recruitments at a massive and unprecedented scale, there is also a special focus on granting timely promotions to all the officers working in various government organisations. As a result, promotions are now happening across all departments and with timely promotions at all levels, more vacancies are likely to be created at entry-level posts, he added.

Extending his heartiest congratulations to the newly recruits, the Minister said, “I am sure that the new appointees will be involved in building New India with innovative ideas, cutting-edge technology, and public participation. I would also like to add that all these new appointees will work as a motivation for others to work hard and stay committed to the goal”. He also added, “Our government is committed to creating various systems, processes, and policies aimed at developing a self-reliant India. I would also like to thank all the department officials present here”.

Ms Natasha Manners from Meghalaya while interacting with the Minister expressed her gratitude for Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and expressed her hope that the region will get more opportunities and assistance from the Central Government in the days to come. She urged other youths from Meghalaya to apply for the Central Government jobs also. Ms Manners got her appointment in NEIGRIHMS.
