Shillong, Aug 25: Meghalaya’s Special Intensive Revision 2026 is in full swing. CEO today reviewed notice delivery and hearings with all DEOs, EROs and AEROs.
As per official data, 6,43,439 notices have been generated. 4,78,217 delivered, 1,65,222 pending. CEO ordered priority delivery.
62,343 hearings have been held so far, 9.69% of flagged cases. CEO reiterated no name will be deleted from Draft Roll without notice, inquiry and fair hearing.
In East Khasi Hills, District Magistrate has cancelled hearings till further orders in 14 Assembly constituencies due to law-and-order situation. 26-Shella, 27-Pynursla and 28-Sohra are exempt. Affected electors will get fresh dates.
6,51,644 cases are under verification — 2,22,786 No Mapping and 4,28,858 mapping discrepancies like name mismatch with 2005 records, abnormal parent-child age gap, siblings with less than 9 months gap, over six children to one parent and less than 40 years gap with grandparent. High No Mapping polling stations will face BLO work audit.
5,848 claims received after Draft publication — Form 6 (Inclusion) 2,840, Form 7 (Deletion) 255, Form 8 (Shifting) 503 and Form 8 (Correction) 2,250.
