Imphal (Manipur), June 9: Manipur’s security forces have yet to rescue at least 20 Naga and Kuki civilians abducted 20 days ago by armed groups in Kangpokpi and Senapati districts.
Operations remain focused on Litan, Mahadev and Sinakeithel along NH-2, with joint police and paramilitary patrols and raids yielding arms and bunkers but no breakthrough. Over 50 people were taken after May 13 violence that killed three church leaders in Kangpokpi.
About 30 hostages were released on May 14 and 15 following pressures from authorities and community groups. The search for the remaining captives continues.
