Shillong(Meghalaya), April 21: Aniesha Arengh produced a devastating 7/13 to skittle Sikkim for 59 and hand Meghalaya a 6-wicket win in the 2nd North East Rising Cup 2026 for U-15 girls in Guwahati Monday.
Sent in after losing the toss, Sikkim lasted just 18.2 overs as Arengh ran through the line-up. Badphihirta Nonglait claimed 1/5, Laviola Mary L Mawlong 1/14, and Onasa M Sangma 1/16 in support.
Meghalaya knocked off the target in 14.1 overs, finishing 61/4 with Mebalapynkmen Syiemlieh’s 14 leading the chase.
The team played with black armbands to honour Dister Marbaniang, East Khasi Hills Cricket Association president and former MCA team manager, who died last week.
The U-15 tournament, hosted by the Assam Cricket Association, is aimed at growing women’s cricket at the grassroots across the North East.
