Guwahati (Assam), April 9: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said the people in the state want more and more development push which was why voters in large numbers turned out in the polling booths to exercise their franchise.
Talking to reporters after casting votes in Jalukbari along with his wife and son, he said the voters have come to witness the process of development during the last 5 years compared to the erstwhile dispensations in the state.
He said he was confident of victory for BJP and its allies in the Assembly polls.
On the other hands, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said Assam and its people would be safe and secured under BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
After casting his vote in Dibrugarh, the former Assam Chief Minister said the state has seen the wave of development like never before since BJP came to power in the state in 2016.
