Shillong (Meghalaya), Feb 6 : A massive 340 young footballers descended upon Shillong on Friday, vying for a coveted spot in the inaugural Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) Academy. The trials, open to boys born between 2013 and 2016, saw intense competition, with 70 boys shortlisted for the next stage.
The MFA Academy aims to nurture local talent, providing structured training and a clear pathway to national-level football. “The response has been overwhelming,” said an MFA official. “We’re excited to identify and develop the next generation of Meghalaya football stars”.
