Baghmara(Meghalaya), Jan 20 : Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated the Counter-Insurgency–Anti-Terrorism (CIAT) School and Integrated Police Welfare Complex at Baghmara, South Garo Hills, marking a significant milestone in the state’s policing infrastructure.
The CIAT School is strategically located to provide advanced training in counter-insurgency and anti-terrorism, leveraging the region’s dense forest, challenging terrain, and tropical weather.
The complex includes a police hospital, officers’ mess, JCO mess, police welfare training centre, sports complex, and recreational centre, aiming to improve facilities for police personnel and their families. Chief Minister Sangma praised the vision of Inspector General of Police Davis N. R. Marak, who conceptualized the project, and thanked Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui for sanctioning additional funds
