Shillong ( Meghalaya), Sep 25 : A shocking revelation has come to light in Nongthymmai, where a minor girl’s claims of being robbed by four unidentified miscreants have been exposed as a fabrication. The 15-year-old girl had alleged that she was threatened with a knife and robbed of Rs. 300 while returning from school today, August 25.
However, after a thorough investigation, which included recording her statement before a Magistrate in the District Court, the girl confessed that she had given the money to her friend for purchasing an item online and, fearing repercussions for spending the money, fabricated the robbery story.
The police had registered a case vide Rynjah PS Case No. 258(8)2025 and launched an investigation into the alleged robbery. But as the truth came to light, it became clear that the girl’s allegations were entirely false. The investigation has brought relief to the community, which had been gripped by fear following the initial report.
