Shillong (Meghalaya), Nov 26: A two-member central team has concluded its investigation into the crisis at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) and has left Shillong on Tuesday. The team will now submit its report in Delhi, marking a significant development in the ongoing saga.
According to sources, the present Vice-Chancellor (VC) of NEHU, who has been at the center of the controversy, is still on leave and has shown no inclination to resign or vacate his position. This stance has only added to the uncertainty and tension within the university community.
During their stay in Shillong, the two – member team held meetings with various stakeholders and gathered information about the crisis. The team’s findings and recommendations will be crucial in determining the future course of action for NEHU.
The university has been plagued by controversies and allegations of mismanagement, prompting the central government to intervene. The departure of the two-member team marks a significant step towards resolving the crisis and restoring normalcy to the university.
