Imphal (Manipur), July 22 : AICC in- charge of Manipur ,Bhakta Charan Das blamed the Chief Minister of Manipur for failure to stop the daily covid deaths and to bring down the positivity rate in the state of hardly 30 lakhs of population.
Addressing the media today at Congress Bhawan, Imphal, AICC in-charge of Manipur Bhakta Charan Das said the entire state is under curfew for 10 days, after months of restrictions due to covid by the BJP Government in Manipur.
Despite restrictions. lockdown, containment and curfew, the BJP Chief Minister, who is also the Health Minister, has failed to bring down the daily covid positivity rate under 1%. The entire BJP Government is responsible for the covid deaths in the state.
He questioned the Chief Minister for not providing RT-PCR test kits in mass testing for the people of Manipur.
Under the present BJP Government in the state, there is no hope of achieving 100% recovery from covid cases and Zero covid death with Zero covid cases in Manipur, he added.
He also questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not uttering even a single word against or on the Pegasus Snooping issue in India.
We want a high level independent investigation to find out and expose who benefitted from Pegasus and for whom Pegasus snooping was done in India, and why and how the Prime Minister did not block Pegasus snooping in our nation, he demanded.
In a query by the media persons, Das said they had discussed the party’s preparedness for the next assembly elections due by the early part of next year. They will be appointing a new president of the MPCC, and it will soon be announced, he said.
It may be mentioned that, Manipur in-charge of AICC, Bhakta Charan Das arrived in Imphal on Wednesday to resolve the uncertainty prevailing in the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) after its president Govindas Konthoujam submitted his resignation from the post of the party on “personal ground” amid the rumours that some sitting MLAs of the party are quitting the party.
After his arrival, MPCC held a series of meetings with Congress legislators and other leaders including Congress legislature party leader and former chief minister O Ibobi Singh and CWC member Gaikhangam, sources said.
Das expressed his hope of coming up with a political change in the state after July 26, the day the Supreme Court of India is scheduled to pronounce its verdict on the disqualification of 12 MLAs of BJP-led coalition government in the state over the appointment of parliamentary secretaries.
