Dimapur (Nagaland), July 2: Nagaland’s Health & Family Welfare department on Friday has informed that 93 cases of Delta Variant of Covid-19 were detected from 98 samples sent for genome sequencing to NIBG, Kalyani, West Bengal.
The department’s Principal Director, Dr. Neikhrielie Khimiao, disclosed that out of the 98 samples, 93 were Delta Variant (B.1.617.2), 2 of Kappa Variant (B.1.617.1), one Alpha Variant (B.1.1.7), while the results of two samples were yet to be received.

He also informed that the department will continue to send more samples for whole genome sequencing regularly.
The principal director further advised the public to strictly adhere to Covid appropriate behavior and vaccinate.
