Kokrajhar (Assam) ,Nov 28: President of United People’s Party Liberal(UPPL) Pramod Boro released party’s election manifesto at its party office here on Saturday for the upcoming BTC council elections.
Launching the election manifesto, UPPL chief and former ABSU president Boro said that his party is contesting in all the 40 constituencies in the BTC council elections to be held on Dec 7 and Dec 10 next .
He was confident that his party would be getting absolute majority and forming the next council for ‘parivartan’ and massive development.
The manifesto promises implementation of all clauses of BTR accord, good governance and equal opportunities to all sections of the communities.
He said that financial aid would be provided to the self help groups by the council apart from generating employment opportunities .
“Formulation of Bodoland land policy would be taken up on priority in BTC region to ensure people’s welfare and ensure a corruption free society”,Boro said.
He said that UPPL will create development boards for religious minorities like ,Adivashis and Barman communities etc.
He said that Bodoland Knowledge Commission would be set up in BTC region to bring healthy educational environment in the region .
“Around 10,000 job creation annually, one toilet one family under Bodoland Swachch Yojana would be created in BTR”,he said. He said his government would stress on empowerment on women for progress and development of the women community.
UPPL would also initiate steps for welfare and development of the working journalists by creating a welfare fund .”Creation of Journalist welfare fund for working journalists of BTR area amounting to 10 crores would be initiated from BTC administration for the working journalists”,Boro said.
He said 100 community colleges would be set up in four districts of the BTR in the coming days.
He affirmed that UPPL is committed to work for the welfare and development in the area.
“Corruption and anomalies must be stopped at any cost in the region”,he said adding that UPPL government will take oath within Dec 15 next by winning majority of the seats.
” There would be no alliance with the BJP in the BTC council elections”,Boro said.
He also alleged that BPF has indulged massive corruption and anomalies during the past 15 years of rule in BTC region.
He demanded investigations into the huge scale corruption and anomalies in BTC council elections which were perpetrated during the BPF ruled BTC administration.
“UPPL is for ‘parivartan and development for all round development of all the communities”,Boro said adding that Hagrama Mohilary led BPF party has no any agenda for the welfare of the common citizens.
He urged the state government to take firm initiative for investigations in the murder of former president of ABMSU Lafikul Islam Ahmed and punish the culprits.
Today , a bike rally was taken out out in Salakati constituency on in Kokrajhar district in support of UPPL party candidates.
UPPL chief Pramod Boro flagged off the rally at Salakati ME school ground which covered Kalipukhuri, Haltugaon Tinali ,Simbargaon ,Banargaon ,Fakiragram ,Baukhungri ,Dotma in Kokrajhar district.
Several thousand bikers from different constituencies under Kokrajhar participated in the rally to showcase the strength of the UPPL ahead the council elections.
UPPL candidates Pratibha Brahma(Baukhungri constituency),Lazu Mushahary (Salakati constituency ), Rabiram Brahma(Banargaon constituency) also participated in the rally.
