Shillong (Meghalaya) , Sept 18 : 2 more Covid deaths were reported in capital Shillong on Friday taking the death toll to 33.
According to official sources , both the patients succumbed to their infections at Nazareth Hospital here .
The patients have been identified as Jamuna Sunar aged 44 years and Anjali Barua aged 60 years .
Meanwhile , 89 new cases were detected in the state on Friday taking the number of active cases to 1,976.
Among the new cases 70 were reported from East Khasi Hills District which includes 67 general public and 3 from Armed Forces .
East Jaintia Hills District reported 14 new cases , West Garo Hills District 2 cases and 1 each from Ri Bhoi District , South West Garo Hills District and South West Khasi Hills District .
A total of 95 patients recovered on Friday .
