Shillong (Meghalya) , Sept 9 : 2 more Covid patients succumbed to their infections here in the past 24 hours taking the death toll to 19.
According to information available , Ms . Usha Paul aged 58 years from Laban locality was brought dead to Nazareth hospital on Tuesday at 7.40 pm . She was a hypertensive and a diabetic .
Another patient Debu Chetri aged 78 years from Abbas Compound in Qualapatty area was admitted to Nazareth Hospital of Tuesday and succumbed to his infections at 6.20 am this morning . Chetri too was a diabetic and had hypertension .
Meanwhile , 121 fresh cases were detected on Wednesday taking the state tally to 3 , 195 . However , the active cases stand at 1355 after 1823 patients have been discharged after recovery .
Among the new cases 30 new cases were reported from East Khasi Hills which includes 28 general public and 2 from Armed Forces .
East Janitia Hills District reported 59 new cases today . All the cases are general general workers at Star Cement’s Lumshnong plant and were tested positive after random testing .
West Garo Hills reported 25 new cases which includes 14 general public and 11 from Armed Forces . South Garo Hills reported 4 new cases and all are general public . Ri -Bhoi district reported 2 new cases and 1 is a general public and 1 from Armed Forces . West Khasi Hills reported 1 case which was a general public .
A total of 107 patients were discharged today after full recovery .
CM , Conrad Sangma tweeted , ” 107 individuals have recovered from coronavirus in the State today.
