Kokrajhar ( Assam),Oct 3: United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) party today announced the names of the candidate’s for upcoming assembly by-polls scheduled to be held on October 30 for Gossaigaon and Tamulpur LACs in Bodoland Territorial Area.
The party has announced the name of Jiron Basumatary for No.28 Gossaigaon LAC and Jolen Daimary for No.58 Tamulpur LAC.
Basumatary was former general secretary of ABSU and ex BTC MCLA.
Daimary in an active social activist and former leader of ABSU from Baksa district.
The by -polls to Gossaigaon LAC was necessitated following the passing away of sitting MLA Majendra Narzary while Tamulpur LAC seat feel vacant following death of sitting MLA Lehoram Boro.
Addressing a press conference today held at UPPL party office here , UPPL working president Rwngwra Narzary announced the names of the candidates for the upcoming assembly by-polls for Gossaigaon and Tamulpur seats..
Narzary was hopeful that UPPL party candidates would emerge successful by winning the assembly by-polls with majority support in both the LACs.
He said that UPPL candidates are getting support from NDA alliance parties as BJP has extended support to the UPPL candidates in the upcoming by-polls.
The UPPL today announced the names of the party candidate’s after a final discussion with NDA alliance parties that took place on Saturday evening.
Narzary said that BJP led NDA alliance parties have fully prepared their strategy for the by-polls and would be winning from all the three constituencies in the state.
