Guwahati(Assam ) ,Nov 15 :The mortal remains of Indian Army havildar Haradhan Chandra Roy who was killed in firing by Pakistani troops on Friday arrived here this evening.
Havildar , Roy hailed from Phutukibari-Medhipara under Sapatgram PS in Dhubri district .
The mortal remains of the havildar Roy was taken to the 151 Army Base Hospital at Basistha in Guwahati from where it will be taken by road to Dhubri .
State chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with top Army and Assam Police officers paid tributes after his mortal remains reached Guwahati .
Earlier in the day , Assam Social welfare minister and senior BPF leader Pramila Rani Brahma visited the residence of the slain solider martyr Haradhan Roy who was 39 years old.
Brahma met bereaved family members of Roy and assured them of a government job of a family member in the Social welfare department.
Brahma also handed over Rs 2 lakh monetary support to the family members from her personal side .
Roy’s body is likely to arrive at his native village in the late night from Guwahati and the rites will be performed on Monday.
The District administration at Dhubri has made all necessary arrangement for cremation of martyr Roy at the Medhipara village near Futkibari.
Condoling his tragic death CM , Sarbananda Sonwal tweeted , ” jawan Hardhan Rai showed exemplary valour while protecting our nation along the Indo-Pak border in J&K.Paid tributes to the brave son of soil in Guwahati. His supreme sacrifice will always inspire us to dedicate ourselves in service of India.”
