New Delhi, April 16: The Rajya Sabha inducted a fresh bench of lawmakers Thursday, weaving new strands of region and party into the Upper House just as Parliament braces for a heavy legislative slate.
BJP President Nitin Nabin took oath alongside Assam’s Teras Goala, Pramod Boro, and Jogen Mohan, strengthening the Northeast’s voice in the chamber. Haryana’s Sanjay Bhatia and Congress leader Karamvir Singh Boddh joined the rolls, while Telangana sent Vem Narendra Reddy and Abhishek Manu Singhvi to the benches.
Himachal Pradesh’s Congress leader Anurag Sharma completed the swearing-in, marking a quiet but consequential reset of the House’s arithmetic and accents before the coming debates.
