Kokrajhar (Assam),Feb 4: Police today conducted a raid at the residence of ex Bodo Liberation Tigers Welfare society chairman , Janamahan Mushahary’s residence in Kokrajhar town.
The raid was led by SP Kokrajhar Rakesh Roushan and he was assisted by two additional SPs and DSPs which started this afternoon and continued for three hours .
A thorough search was conducted at the residential complex of Mushahary.
Notably,police on Tuesday arrested six persons and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in Kokrajhar district.
The search operation was carried out after recovery of huge cache of arms and ammunition at Nasraibil area under Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar district.
SP Rakesh Roushan said that police is continuing it’s search operation as on Tuesday police recovered huge amount of arms and ammunition and arrested six persons from Nasraibil area under Gossaigaon subdivision.
Police carried out the search operation after specific inputs . They seized several documents and materials from his house. At the time of filing of this report the search operation was still on.
Roushan, however did not disclose about the seizures and recoveries during the house search.
“We are not disclosing anything about the seizure or recoveries during the search operation at this stage “, Roushan said.
Meanwhile , Ex-BLT welfare society chairman Janamahan Mushahary has expressed his resentment over the search operation this afternoon and termed it as unfortunate and not suited in a democratic country without any reasons .
He added that he is a peace loving citizen and presently chairman of ex BLT welfare society and is working for the welfare of the former BLT members.
He said that police seized several goods including his wife’s gold ornaments, bank cheque books , two air guns etc.
” I am a peace loving citizen .It seems the raid at my residence is politically motivated “, Mushahary said.
Ex- BLT members laid down arms and ammunition after the BTC accord was signed way back in December 2003.
