Kokrajhar (Assam),Jan 23: Citizens of four districts of Bodoland Territorial Region(BTR) were distributed the land entitlement certificates under the leadership of state government and BTC administration on Saturday across the region along with rest of the state.
In Kokrajhar, Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) chief executive member(CEM) Pramod Boro ceremonially distributed land entitlement certificates to those living along the forest areas since many years in Kokrajhar district.
Nearly 120 persons out of 1700 were given land allotment certificates at a programme held at BTC Secretariat ground Bodofa Nwgwr here which was initiated by BTC land and revenue department.
CEM Pramod Boro after distributing land entitlement certificate said that the government wants to bring peace and tranquility among the ethnic communities through massive welfare and development.
He said that UPPL-BJP-GSP combine coalition government has implemented their assurance and commitment promised prior to the BTR elections .
He said that his government is fully committed to work for the welfare and development of the citizens with more steps in the days to come.
” All Citizens must ensure integrated society building in the region as UPPL-BJP-GSP combined coalition government was committed to healthy living”, Boro said.
“Policy for use of land must be initiated with strong interest”, Boro added .
He said that the land rights are being given to the indigenous people and those living here since many years in the region. He urged upon the citizens to ensure biological environment while leading healthy life .
In Chirang, along with other districts of the state, land pattas and land allotment certificates were also distributed to the landless indigenous people in Chirang district on Saturday.
After the ceremonial distribution of land pattas and allotment certificates by the PM Narendra Modi at Shivsagar Jerenga Pathar, distribution of land pattas among 200 beneficiaries and distribution of land allotment certificates among 638 beneficiaries under Bijni Sidli and Bengtal Revenue Circle of Chirang district was also organized in the premises of Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kajalgaon, Chirang.
Ukil Mushahary, EM, for Water Resources graced the programme held in the premises of Deputy Commissioner’s office at Kajalgaon as Chief Guest and ceremonially handed over the land documents to the beneficiaries in the presence of Gautam Das, EM, for Agriculture department, Bijni MLA Kamalsing Narzary, MCLAs Abhiram Mahanayak and Madhab Chandra Chettry and other dignitaries.
On the occasion, out of 837 land documents, 200 pattas and 637 land-allotment certificates were distributed to the landless indigenous families of Sidli, Bengtal and Bijni Revenue Circle in the district.
In his speech as Chief Guest Ukil Muchahary said, ‘The present BTC government UPPL, BJP and GSP combine is trying to fulfill all its election promises one by one. Giving land rights to the poor and landless people of BTR was a commitment of our party and was on the top of our priority list. We are happy that all these are being fulfilled within one month of our government in the BTC,”.
He also assured that in the coming days, the rest of the land pattas and land allotment certificates would be distributed to the landless indigenous families at their respective villages.
In the meeting, Bijni MLA Kamal Singh Narzary hailed the state government for taking steps for providing land documents to the needy and landless people.
Deputy Commissioner Gautam Talukdar also thanked the state government and Pramod Boro led BTC government for their noble work for the betterment of the poor people .
In Udalguri,BTC deputy chief Gobinda Chandra Basumatary distributed land entitlement certificatse among the beneficiaries.
