Guwahati (Assam) , April 21 : Popular Assamese singer Vitali Das passed away at around 7.05 pm due to Covid- related complicacies here .
She was a diabetic patient and was undergoing treatment for Covid-19.
In a statement, GMCH Superintendent Abhijit Sarma said, “Very sad to inform that reputed singer Mrs. Vitali Das expired just now. Time 7.05 pm. She became COVID negative today.”
Vitali Das was hospitalized at Kalapahar COVID care centre after developing COVID-19 related symptoms on April 15.
Meanwhile, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma condoled the sad and untimely demise of the singer.
Noted Assamese singer Zubin Garg while condoling her death said, “Thousands of songs, lakhs of stories, uncountable memories we shared together. She was one of the strongest co-singers I’ve ever worked with. I will miss you, Vitali.”
