      Kokrajhar(Assam),Mar 18: BPF candidate for Kokrajhar East constituency and Assam Social welfare minister Pramila Rani Brahma and UPPL candidate Lawrence Islary and two other independent candidates have filed their nomination papers today before the returning officer and Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar at DC office for the the third phase of the forthcoming Assam assembly elections stated on April 6 .

      Sailebdra Nath Brahma and Mijink Brahma also filed their nomination papers today as independent candidates from the Kokrajhar East constituency.

      Brahma is contesting the assembly elections for straight 7th term. Senior BPF leaders and supporters accompanied her during the filling of her nomination.

      “I am confident of winning the Kokrajhar East seat for 7th term in my political career”, Brahma said.
      She said that she has been contesting the assembly elections to ensure massive development and welfare among the common masses.

      Former ABSU general secretary and one of BTR accord signatories Lawrence Islary also filed his nomination paper before the returning officer today for the Kokrajhar East LAC.

      Islary is contesting on UPPL ticket against BPF heavyweight and sitting MLA Pramila Rani Brahma .

      Islary was accompanied by senior party leaders supporters during filing of his nomination papers .

      Talking to media , he accused that BPF MLA Pramila Rani Brahma has failed to work for the welfare and development of the society during her 30 years as MLA and minister in the state cabinet.

      He said that this time peoples from all walks of life are extending support to the UPPL BJP AGP GSP alliance parties in the state.

      He was hopeful that BJP led alliance parties would form the next government in the state.

      Meanwhile, the number of nomination papers filed has gone upto five on Thursday with filling two more nomination papers for No.31 Sidli constituency before the returning officer and Deputy Commissioner Chirang.
      BPF candidate and Assam cabinet minister Chandan Brahma also filed his nomination papers today .

      Brahma was confident of winning the Sidli seat for straight four consecutive term. UPPL candidate Jayanta Basumatary also filed his nomination papers for Sidli constituency today.

      BPF candidate and sitting MLA Rabiram Narzary filed his nomination papers for No.29 Kokrajhar West constituency today while .UPPL candidate for Kokrajhar West constituency Manaranjan Brahma fielded his nomination papers before the rest officer at Gossaigaon sub-divisional office.

      Meanwhile, sitting BPF MLA Majandra Narzary and UPPL-BJP candidate Somnath Narzary have filed their nomination papers for No.28 Gossaigaon LAC today .
