Kokrajhar (Assam),Jan 3 : General Manager of North Eastern Frontier Railway Sanjiv Roy while interaction with media persons during his annual inspection on Friday at Kokrajhar railway station,said that he is here inspect all the amenities that has been constructed in the station.
He added that the railways has been working hard for proper development and uplift the communication network in the region.
“Kokrajhar railway station would be upgraded to a model station after increasing commercial earning from the passengers and proper implementation of the communication network “,he assured .
Roy along with several senior officials visited Kokrajhar railway station in Kokrajhar district today for the annual inspection.
Roy reached Kokrajhar railway station in a special inspection train from New Bongaigaon and was accompanied by chief commercial manager, chief operation manager, chief mechanical engineering, general manager (Personnel), and chief medical director of the NFR, divisional railway manager Alipurduar division.
The inspection team also visited Fakiragram junction railway station in Kokrajhar district.
Various social organizations including Kokrajhar Merchant Association met GM NFR and submitted memorandum demanding upgrading of Kokrajhar railway station.
The Merchants association demanded stoppage of long distance express trains in Kokrajhar, the heart of BTAD administration including Capital express,Saraighat express,Bikaner express,Uttar-Purva Sampark Kranti express and premier express trains.
The association also demanded upgradation of the station to a super first class station with all facilities.
