Guwahati ( Assam) , May 21 : This is perhaps the height of desperation . A fraud with a fake striker of a’ District Magistrate’ on a hired car tries to cross all the police posts just to be in time for his girlfriend ‘s birthday .
An Assam man was finally arrested by police for faking himself to be the magistrate of Titabar from Jorhat in Assam while he was on his way in a hired car by fixing a printout on front of car he was travelling which read ‘ District Magistrate ‘.
He has been identified as Biswajyoti Dutta alias Madhurjya Bora of Kanhargaon Na-Ali Dhekiajuli of Titabar in Jorhat district.
Dutta was apprehended by the police on charges of posing as an executive magistrate and travelling amdist strict restrictions imposed in view of Covid -19 epidemic in the state .
The imposter had also hired a driver for the role, and cheated him too by promising to pay him to for driving him for his girlfriends birthday.
“I took him to a birthday party and he told me he will stay there. I was asked to go back, but he called me again and I took him to many areas. My overall oil expenses were around Rs. 5000,” the driver told Nagaland based Nagaland Post.
That he was a conman became clear when he allegedly tried to find fault with the policemen on duty at the Outpost.
After his conversation OC of the police station , he was finally arrested by the police for impersonating as a District Magistrate .
