Guwahati (Assam), June 22 : 2 more person died due to deadly Covid virus in the state on Sunday, taking the total number of deaths in the state to 11 .
A person from Pandu area of the city identified as Lakhi Das. died due to Covid this morning .
On Friday an elderly man identified as Bhabesh Kangsha Banik died of Covid . He was from Jyotikuchi area of the city .
The state saw a total of 331 cases detected across the Assam on Sunday . Kamrup (Metro) district recorded the highest single-day spike of COVID-19 positive cases with 73 people being infected with the virus in the last 24 hours.
The number of those infected by the virus in the district till date has crossed the 400-mark.
Five new hotspots in Guwahati have been identified, which includes areas in Pandu, Fancy Bazar and Serabbhatti.
4 Guwahati Police personnel from Panbazar police station, have tested positive after which the police station has been declared as a containment zone .
