Guwahati(Assam), July 2 : A total of 1178 new Covid cases were detected in the state on Sunday out which 268 cases were from Kamrup Metro.
With this the tally has gone upto 42904 with 11354 positive cases .
4 more critically -ill Covid patients succumbed to their infections in the state on Sunday taking the death toll to 105 .
According to official sources , the 4 patients have been identified as 54-year old Mridula Ghosh from Karimganj, 50 -year old Tilak Chandra Das from Kamrup Metro , 62 -year old Santa Sarkar from Tinsukia and 52 -year old Samir Phukan from Jorhat .
Meanwhile, a total of 942 patients were discharged from various hospitals after full recovery .
Confirming the days development , Health Minister HB Sarma tweeted , “📌Alert ~ 1178 new #COVID19 cases detected out of 19943 tests conducted in last 24 hrs. We have been able to maintain a low positivity rate consistently (today- 5.91%).Kamrup (M): 268 .”
