Jowai (Meghalaya) , Jan 15 : The 6th Meghalaya Games 2025 is officially underway! The excitement began today with electrifying football matches in the Under-17 Boys category at the Kiang Nangbah Stadium in Jowai.
East Garo Hills took the lead with a 4-2 win over South West Garo Hills, while matches between South West Khasi Hills and East Khasi Hills, as well as East Jaintia Hills and Ribhoi, ended in nail-biting draws.
The official inauguration is slated for January 20th at the Wahiajer Stadium, marking the start of a five-day sporting extravaganza that will wrap up on January 25.
This year’s edition promises to be bigger and better, with over 3500 players from across the state competing in 29 disciplines, including four demo sports .
The Meghalaya Games 2025 is all set to showcase the state’s sporting talent and provide a platform for emerging athletes to shine!
