Shillong (Meghalaya), May 8: East Khasi Hills Police on Wednesday in a press note informed that an unexploded military tank artillery shell of length 13 inches and circumference of 12 inches (3.5-inch diameter) was found at Mawlynrei Nonglum, here while digging for construction work.
A statement issued by SP, East Khasi Hills, Rituraj Ravi said that the location where it was found is in a private property.

“The shell has been placed into safe custody and is being examined by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) of Meghalaya police. An investigation is being done to identify the origins of the shell”, the statement added.
