Tura(Meghalaya), Aug 5: The North Tura MLA, Thomas Sangma, who is in the dock over allegations of rape, has been accused by the victim of spreading false information about her on social media which apparently has led to her suffering mental and physical trauma.
In a release this evening, the victim accused Thomas of trying to discredit her through social media alleging that she had demanded an amount of Rs 5 crores to withdraw the case against him, something that she has flatly refused to do.
“The case is still pending in the Competent Court for trial but we have learned from sources that Thomas Sangma had been spreading false messages to the public that I have been demanding Rs 5 Crore from him, to withdraw the case. I beg to inform the supporters of Thomas A. Sangma that I am not going to withdraw my case against him,” said the victim.
The victim further alleged that supporters of the MLA were using abusive language against her.
“I will fight till the end and will even approach the Supreme Court to get my justice. I am not afraid of him and don’t care whether he is MLA, adviser to the CM or a former member of Rajaya Sabha,” she added.
The victim has gone one step ahead and announced that she would reward anyone with Rs 2 lakh if anyone can bring evidence of the MLAs or his supporters’ wrongdoing without disclosing their identity, providing a number (8794741523) for contact.
“I am also filing another writ petition in some days before the High Court for CBI enquiry into this case. I also have lodged an FIR against those Facebook users who uploaded my picture with filthy language and an investigation is still ongoing,” she added through the release.
