Shillong(Meghalaya), July 8: The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has partnered with the Meghalaya government to promote shooting sports in the state. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the NRAI, Shooting Association of Meghalaya (SAM), and the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, in the presence of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.
The partnership aims to develop shooting infrastructure, nurture talent, and create a robust ecosystem for the sport in Meghalaya. This move is seen as a significant step ahead of the 39th National Games, which the state will host in 2027.
NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo presented a detailed plan to the Chief Minister, outlining the potential for growth in shooting sports in Meghalaya. With this partnership, the state is poised to take a big leap in promoting shooting sports and producing talented athletes.
