Shillong ( Meghalaya ), Jan 20 : Meghalaya’s COVID-19 tally rose to 87,404 on Thursday as 329 more people tested positive for the infection, while 2 fresh fatalities pushed the state’s coronavirus death toll to 1,494 .
East Khasi Hills district, where the state capital Shillong is located, registered the highest number of fresh cases at 204 , followed by West Garo Hills (65 ), and Ri Bhoi (18 ).

One fresh cases of Covid deaths were reported in East Khasi Hills district and Eastern West Khasi Hills.
As many as 84,281 people have recovered from the infection so far and the state now has 1,629 active cases.
