Shillong (Meghalaya), May 8: The Meghalaya government has imposed a night curfew in areas along the approximately 40 km unfenced portion of the India-Bangladesh border in the state.
The decision comes after inputs suggested a likelihood of cross-border movements, making the region prone to infiltration and smuggling.
According to officials, the curfew aims to prevent unauthorized movements and ensure security in the region.
This move underscores the government’s efforts to address security concerns and prevent potential threats along the border.
