Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 29: In a high-octane Shillong Premier League 2025 clash, Mawlai emerged victorious, beating Langsning 1-0 at the SSA Stadium’s First Ground, Polo, here.
Banraplang Pyngrope’s 52nd-minute header proved to be the match-winner, sending Mawlai soaring to second place in the standings with 6 points, just three points behind leaders Nangkiew Irat.
The match was a thrilling encounter, with both teams creating scoring opportunities, but Langsning’s stout defense couldn’t withstand Pyngrope’s clinical finish. The first half saw both sides probing each other, with Loving Suting’s long-range shot in the 17th minute being a highlight, only to be saved by Langsning goalkeeper Rajat Paul Lyngdoh.
This win marked Mawlai’s sixth victory in their last seven meetings against Langsning, with the other result being a draw. For Langsning, it was their first defeat of the season, and they slipped to fourth place with 4 points.
