Imphal (Manipur), Nov 29: Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram got married today, November 29, at Chumthang Sanapung situated at Langthabal in Imphal West. They reached Imphal on November 27.
The pics and videos from the ceremony are all over the social media. The groom and the bride looked divine in traditional Manipuri attires.
Randeep is seen in an all-white kurta and dhoti and a yellow headwear. Lin looked gorgeous in a white and pink Manipuri outfit that she paired with a black blouse. The actress accessorized herself with heavy gold jewellery.
Clad in white pheijom, lengyan phee and kokyet (headgear), Randeep turned into a perfect Manipuri groom as he was seen surrounded by his family and relatives.
Lin Laishram was born in Imphal. She left home at very early age to pursue her studies. While she was in school, her father encouraged her to enter in sports. Her father an avid sportsman himself and being the President of Manipur Archery Association for many years saw her talent in sports from a very early age.
She represented her state at the All-India National Archery Championship in Rajasthan and she was the first Manipuri to get selected for Tata Archery Academy. She won many awards including best sportsperson of the year and also 1998 Junior National championship.
Due to many years of rigorous training, she suffered from an injury and could no longer play. She moved to the Mumbai city to peruse her higher education. she graduated from University of Mumbai as first-class major in Sociology.
While she was in Mumbai she was discovered by world renowned modeling agency “Elite Models”. Her exotic looks and her tall structure was instant hit in the modeling world and soon she was the center of attraction for all the big designer and photographers.
She walked the prestigious Wills India Fashion Week. She was also offered movie assignment from bollywood movies. She also appeared in Bollywood superhit movie “Om Shanty Om” and has small cameo role in “Hatrick”.
Lin moved to NYC to further refine her skills in modeling and acting. While on a casting she was discovered by a world renowned jewelry company “Ozuro”, who went on to sign her as their brand model. She also attended Stella Adlers and other acting schools in New York and in Bombay. She is working as she is involved with various projects right now.
Lin symbolizes the fact that Manipur is a land blessed with talented people and little push and right path can take Manipur on the global map. Lin has not forgotten her roots; she still enjoys the home cooked Eromba (This dish is usually made with boiled vegetables and fermented fish mashed together along with chillies).
In Imphal Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda arrived at Imphal Airport in Manipur from Mumbai on Monday, The actor was warmly welcomed by his soon-to-be-wife, model, and actress Lin Laishram. looked stunning and gorgeous in her Manipuri traditional attire paired with a Louis Vuitton handbag, while the dashing Randeep chose a comfy white polo shirt and cotton pants. He completed his perfect airport appearance with a pair of sunglasses.
Before their wedding, the couple also visit the Marjing Polo Statue, the world’s tallest statue of a polo player, Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram offer prayer at Ibudhou Marjing Khubhamlen Temple in Imphal East and offered prayers for a blissful marriage, and also, for peace in Manipur.
Speaking to some media persons, the couple said they offer prayers to restore peace and normalcy in the state “Today, we prayed for a happy future and peace for Manipur and everywhere in the world.”
Lin Laishram, Randeep Hooda also went to Marjing Polo Statue, the world’s tallest statue of a polo player, and also attend the aarti prayer at Shri Shri Govindaji Temple to seek divine blessings. Visiting the Marjing Polo Statue is significant for Randeep, as he is also a professional equestrian and has his own polo club called the Gurgaon Polo and Equestrian Club.
The Bollywood actors Lin Laishram and Randeep Hooda on Wednesday attended evening aarti prayer at Shri Govindaji Temple, Imphal.

For the wedding outfits, the couple will opt for the traditional Manipuri wedding trousseau and adhere to all customs and rituals while staying connected to their roots.
Only close friends and family of the couple are expected to be present at the intimate ceremony . Randeep is known to be a private individual, who wishes to stay out of the spotlight. And hence, the couple has been extremely silent about the special occasion.
In Manipuri society, the term marriage is known as “Luhongba” which is a. synthesis of two words- “Lu” and “Hongba”. The term “Lu” means “Head” and “Hongba” means “Change”. Hence, Luhongba is the ceremonial union of the “Lu” of the man and the woman implying the oneness of their heart and soul rather than the state of their being a couple.
