Shillong (Meghalaya), April 1 : The Government today held a preparatory meeting for the peace talks with the militant organization , Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC).
Under the leadership of Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma a meeting in this regard was held along Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui, Chief Secretary, R.V. Suchiang and state interlocutor P.S. Dkhar ( retd IAS).
The meeting was held to prepare for the peace talks with HNLC.
Speaking to media after the meeting , CM Conrad K. Sangma confirmed about the meeting and refused to disclose what transpired in the meeting.
He also said, “This meeting is a normal process. The Government is committed to move forward the peace talks . At this point of time, I have very limited information. We are pushing this to a logical conclusion”.
