Resubelpara(Meghalaya ) Aug 12: Acting on a tip off, North Garo Hills (NGH) police yesterday arrested one person from near Bajengdoba after he was caught with an illegal firearm.
As per police sources, a report had been received by the police team from Bajengdoba of one person carrying illegal arms with the intention of committing crimes.

Accordingly an operation was launched and the accused was apprehended by policemen from near the Bajengdoba market area. A country made pistol and one live pistol ammunition were also recovered from the apprehended person.
“We have arrested him and a case has been registered. An investigation into the matter is currently ongoing,” said superintendent of police, NGH, Abraham T Sangma.
