Shillong (Meghalaya), Sept 20: The Governor of Meghalaya, Phagu Chauhan, today attended the Annual Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) Award Ceremony organized by the NCC Directorate, Northeast Region held at the Rhino Auditorium, here.
In recognition of the outstanding efforts of the ANOS in their respective fields, the Governor gave away awards to 16 deserving cadets from different states of the Northeast in the presence of Lieutenant General Sanjay Malik, GOC, 101 Area Shillong, Major General Gagandeep, Assistant Director General, National Cadets Corps, Northeast, Associate Officers of NCC, senior state officials, officers of the Army and the Police Department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the ANOs play an important role in the National Cadet Corps and also in upholding discipline and national unity. Lauding the young cadets for their tremendous contributions, he urged them as future disciplined citizens of the country to work hard and contribute to the development of the community selflessly.
