Shillong (Meghalaya), April 16 : All the 46 samples of suspected coronavirus cases in Meghalaya which were tested at Barpeta Medical College in Assam have tested negative .This was stated by the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in a fb post .
So as of now out of the total 118 tests only six have been confirmed positive .
He informed that a total of 118 tests results have come out of which 68 were declared on Tuesday late evening and 50 were declared on Wenesday afternoon. Of the 68 test, six were confirmed positive, while of the 50 test results from Guwahati Medical College and Hospital, all were negative.
He said that most of the people who tested positive were mostly the immediate family and house members of the patient.
“Apart from that we received 50 results on Wednesday from GMC and out of this 50 results all have tested negative and today another 43 from Barpeta Medical College, also turned our to be negative ” a press release from the CMO said .
The statement informed that most of the people who had come in primary contact have been quarantined and the process for contact tracing of secondary is underway.
“Almost all the primary contacts have been quarantined and tests are being done at the earliest,” said the statement from the CMO.
