Shillong(Meghalaya), Oct 5 : The state today reported 111 fresh Covid cases taking the state tally to 6,767 . The active cases , however , stand at 2,217 after a total of 4,491 patients have been declared recovered .
One more death was recorded in the state today taking the death toll due to Covid to 59 . Though the Health department officially declared five deaths today , the four other deaths were already reported by South Asia Views on Sunday . The patient who succumbed to his Covid infections today has been identified as Manoranjan Deb aged 55 years from Mawbah area of Shillong .
According to DHS (MI), Dr. A War among the new cases detected on Monday include 72 from East Khasi Hills , 10 from East Jaintia Hills 19 from Ri -Bhoi , 6 from West Garo Hills ,2 from West Jaintia Hills and 1 each from East Garo Hills and West Garo Hills . All the cases detected today were of civilians .
A total of 98 patients were declared recovered today.
