Imphal, Aug 31: A group of Naga MLAs from Manipur urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take strict action against Kuki-Zo militant leaders alleging that they were causing trouble in the north eastern state.
In a letter addressed to Shah, the MLAs, who include Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, further strongly demanded the arrest of those, who were responsible for killing of 6 Naga civilians.
They told the Centre that the need of the hour is the abrogation of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with Kuki militant groups.
The MLAs observed that the situation reached a “critical and volatile stage” and warned that any failure to take “unbiased, decisive and bold action” could push the state into an uncontrollable situation.
The letter was sent a couple of days after 4 Naga men were killed in an ambush on the IT Road in Kangpokpi district on August 27.
