Imphal(Manipur), March 8 : A drug manufacturing laboratory has been busted in Manipur’s Thoubal district and three persons have been arrested.
On Sunday at about 8.45 pm acting on tip off of Heroin Brown Sugar manufacturing units at Lilong Nungei area, teams of CDO unit Thoubal, Thoubal PS and Lilong PS led by Sachidananda Soibam Addl. SP-Ops and Lakshay Sharma Sharma Addl. SP-LO including Insp. Md. Riaj Khan OC Lilong PS, Insp. N. Tikendra Meitei OC-CDO unit Thoubal, Insp. N. Suresh RI Thoubal, SI S. Ibomcha Singh 2nd OC Thoubal PS under the overall supervision of Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh, MPS, SP-Thoubal District rushed to the area and conducted house search operation at the houses of one Md. Maneruddin of Lilong Nungei Khunou Mamang Leikai and Md. Manergul (53 yrs) of Lilong Nungei Khunou Mamang Leikai.
During the house search operation the teams busted two Heroin Brown Sugar manufacturing units which have been running in the houses of above two persons with the seizure of Heroin Brown Sugar powder (refined)- 565 gm,Heroin Brown Sugar-1104.98 Kgs,.Opium- 5 kgs. Morphinated Liquid-131 litres,Pressing Boards -2 numbers. Rs. 61,400/- in cash.,Vehicles – 4 two-wheelers, Other items used in manufacturing heroin brown sugar.
3 persons were arrested and have been identified as Md. Yunush Khan (22 yrs) of Nungei Mamang Leikai, Bogimayum Sher Shaha (23 yrs) of Uchiwa Haotabi Leikai and Md. Manergul(53 yrs) s/o of Lilong Khunou Mamang Leikai.
The District Police Thoubal is undertaking hectic efforts to arrest the above mentioned accused persons. The arrested persons along seized items have been handed over to Lilong PS for necessary legal action.
A case has been registered against the three arrested persons and a manhunt launched to nab four others involved in the racket.
