Imphal (Manipur), Sept 24 : Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh today reshuffled his council of ministers .
The new faces who had been inducted into his council of ministers include O Lukhoi (Wangoi ), O Henry (Wangkhei ), Vungzagin Valte (Thanglon , Sorokhaibam Rajen (Lamshang ) and Th Satyabrata (Yaiskul ).
They were sworn in before the Governor Najma Heptulla at the Raj Bhavan around 5 pm in the presence of the chief minister and only 4 MLAs and other dignitaries.
Speaker , Y. Khemchand was not present at the Swearing in.
The swearing-in ceremony took place after N Biren Singh dropped six minister from his cabinet. Those who were dropped include, Th Radheshyam Singh (BJP), V Hangkhanlian (BJP), Nemcha Kipgen (BJP) L Jayantakumar Singh (NPP), N Kayisii (NPP) and Karam Shyam (LJP).
BJP National vice-president Baijayant Panda, BJP National leader Ajay Jamal who is also in-charge of the Manipur BJP (organisation) and former advisor to the chief minister of Manipur Rajat Sethi were also present during the swearing – in ceremony.
The cabinet rejig was initially scheduled for Wednesday. It could not be effected as there were reports of dissidence within the state BJP over the cabinet reshuffle.
