Imphal(Manipur), June 5 : Manipur reported 717 new cases and 9 deaths today after 8,229 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal East (141). Imphal West (245). Thoubal (84), Bishnupur (41), Kakching (47), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (97), Chandel (23), Senapati (9), Tamenglong (12), Tengnoupal (1). Kangpokpi (5), Kamjong (1) and Noney (3), according to the Health Department.
In the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported nine COVID-19 deaths. Four persons from Imphal East, three from Imphal West, and one each from Bishnupur and Kakching died at RIMS (3), JNIMS (2), Shija Hospital (2) and Babina (2).
As per the Health Department, 740 persons were discharged today, out of which 546 are from home isolation, 14 from RIMS and five from JNIMS and the rest 175 are from other COVID care facilities. The recovery rate is 81.82 per cent.
The total number of infections in the state has reached 54,407 and 872 total deaths. The number of active cases in the state stands at 9,016.
