Imphal(Manipur), July 2 : Even as COVID curfew in seven districts has been extended till July 10, with certain relaxation regarding several activities, Manipur continues to report COVID deaths in double figures. With 13 deaths reported on Friday, the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Manipur has reached 1,175.
In the past twenty-four hours, 656 persons were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases, according to the Health Department. Imphal West remains the major contributor of daily spike with 212 new cases.
On Friday, 603 persons were discharged, taking the recovery rate to 89.93 per cent. Out of 70,954 total infections, 63,809 individuals have recovered. There are now 5,970 active cases in the state.
As per the health department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 2038 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 493 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur.
As per the latest information, 6,82,110 persons have been vaccinated in the state. Manipur has a population of above 30 lakhs.
